Session information:
Visualizing Your Voice, The Power Of UGC Content: Your Story, Your Lense, Your Audience
With breakneck advances in technology, from 20 pound video cameras with attached VCR’s slung over your shoulder like Indiana Jones’s satchel in the 80s, to their bite sized “micro-machined” counterparts, the “HandyCam” in the 90s, the evolution of DIY film has become more convenient. Fast forwarding to present day, those bulky cameras are 1/10th their former size and now inside every smartphone, providing access to visually create regardless of your budget.
Now that the power to create is in the palm of your hand, how do you actually create? After recording, what’s next. And most importantly, how will you capitalize on what you’ve created, with or without a huge following?
Contrary to popular belief, the success of your video isn’t solely based upon what happens after hitting “upload”, but actually starts before pressing record.
With dozens of editing apps at your disposal, it’s imperative to identify 3 things before starting:
- Your audience
- Your target audience’s platform of choice (Youtube, FB, IG, ect)
- Your overall goal for your content
Our session will source the answers to these 3 questions, which are key in transitioning your ideas from “Plan To Production”.
Mike Mixon and his wife Charisse (known affectionately as his “Ole Lady”) are the parents of 7 kids and run “6 Kids 1 Tank” (aka “The 6 Kids Crew), a family travel and fun blog that aims to show other families how to save money without shortcuting their memories.
Even without a large following, the “6 Kids Crew” have been blessed and afforded the opportunities to work with Shores & Islands Ohio, Cedar Point, Circa Casino Resort Las Vegas, The Bavarian Inn Resort, Splash Village Indoor Waterpark Resort, SkyWheel Panama City Beach, Visit PCB, Camp Cedar Luxury Outdoor Resort, The Loud Cup and several more.
With the rise in demand for UGC (User Generated Content) from creators of all sizes, I hope you’ll walk away from this session with the understanding that “UGC will allow you to stop quantizing your brands value by the number of followers you don’t have. You can now focus more on creating quality content that appeals to companies the same way a follower count used to.”
